Our Mission

We help people around the world access verified information. Our mission is rooted in the belief that knowledge has the power to help each person make independent and informed decisions, for a safer, thriving society for all. After decades of conspiracy theories, distorted stories, and fake news, there has never been a greater need for accurate information. 

Right now, our world is racing towards a disastrous 2.8 degrees of warming — to a planet ravaged by deadly heat, rising seas, extreme weather, food and water scarcity, and mass extinction. Inaccurate information only exacerbates inaction. We aim to combat this with information that drives meaningful action, holds decision makers responsible, and spotlights true innovation.

Since May 2020, when it was launched in response to the COVID crisis and accompanying infodemic, Verified has reached over one billion people around the world with reliable, accurate information.

By promoting and sharing Verified messages and taking important action, people around the world are helping to address complex crises like climate change by countering the spread of mis- and disinformation.
